counting crows

Countdown : 99 days to my engagement!!

I was supposed to post this countdown yesterday, so it would be 100 days to my engagement. But nevertheless, I missed it. as so tired (I guess) from working for 3 days that I came home at 5.30, eat extra early dinner, then took a nap. Pray, and then nap again. Pray, and then nap again. But the last one is considered sleep because it was until 6.30. So my last meal yesterday was at 5.30 and I woke up with an empty stomach and thankful that mom has made sardine roll for breakfast. They are a tad too salty though that I only ate 1 piece up until now. Heheh

The hospital parking space is on open air. No shading of any kind. Plants are still young and thin, so no nature shading as well. I guess it was too warm that my Mariah Carey cd cover became like this -->

ringwraith

My engagement day will be on the 30/05/10... xde significant ape2 pun... now that I’ve wrote it down nampak quite nice la because ade zero zero zero tu... otherwise nothing special about the date...as yet. We picked the date because it’s school holiday and my eldest sister who is residing in Sabah is a teacher. So kena la pick time cuti sekolah. N dlm cuti sekolah 2 weeks tu ada 3 weekends. The first weekend, 29/05 she’s gonna come back home, and the last weekend 12/06 she’s gonna go back to Sabah. Weekend tengah, 5/6 pihak lelaki cannot make it because their spokesperson is already booked for another pertunangan. So we proposed 30/05/10, on Sunday. It’s my working day but nothing to worry about as my boss the oral surgeon sgt baik. So I’m positive that he’s gonna approve my 2/3 days leave. According to my seniors before this if they were posted in hospital mesti xdapat amik cuti because 1: short of staff. 2: previous boss is somewhat like oldschool punya surgeon. he anggap FYDO the same as houseman. So x blh cuti-cuti. Thank god, the new boss is very dedicated, and cool, and bg amik cuti lah!

As of today, 2 things have been settled. First, my ring (the one ring to rule ‘em all) has been booked. Secondly, the photographer has also been booked. Phew... this has been on my mind for some time now (the photog). Initially I wanted to hire one of the photogs which I hired for my convocation. He was actually tagging with the official photog. But as this photography is his main job and his photos are really2 nice, I’ve previously decided to hire him for my engagement and wedding. The setback is : he is based in Shah Alam. You guys can check out his blog at this add. www.qayyumstudio.com . I don’t know if anybody is reading my blog. Kalau ada, hehe then blh la tgk his homepage. So last nite I was frantically searching for photog in Kedah area because baru je confirm date. And xtau macam mana I got to this photog’s blog, www.nasirzin.com . his work is art to my liking. The time was 2 in the morning and internet connection quite slow. I was desperate to show his pictures to my sis but she already slept. Then I was trying to get his contact and searching where he is actually based. Last2 tertidoq and sampai termimpi-mimpi lg. I think ada 2/3 times terjaga in the middle of the night and dok terngiang2 nama nasirzin nasirzin in my mind. So after subuh prayer cepat2 bagitau my sis n my mom and they also liked his work. And we come to know that he is based in Lunas, Kedah which is 1 hour from my house. And I sent him message online and also to his mobile phone. Tunggu, tunggu sampai tengahari baru he replied. He sent his quotations and my sis helped checked it out in my email because I am now on my way back to Kedah. He is affordable, but I still need to bincang pasal the offer because 1; I don’t need an outdoor shoot for pertunangan and 2; I don’t want a poster of my pertunangan. Poster?? Come on..lawak la pulak...where will I hang it? So mungkin buleh nego utk tukar dengan apa2 the 2 things.

On another note, my white gold diamond Habib is now kept somewhere safe and sound at Habib HQ in Ampang. Yeay! After some nego, and pujukan manja (yikes!) to my bakal tunang, he agreed to buy me the ring. Slightly more than his allocation but it’s gonna be worth it...because he’ll get me! Hahah... actually sempat pegi survey at 2 Habib branches je, the one in Alamanda and in Ampang. And then try n try many white golds and diamonds, along came one ring yang after looking at it, I don’t want to see any more rings and my heart is set on it. I just knew that it’s the one. The feeling is wonderful. One of a kind experience where your heart will burst and melt at the same time and also yell : my one...my precious. I became Gollum.

I'm so so much cuter and
there are diamonds on my ring!

suede it!

I was close to tears this evening because my suede leather Hush Puppies shoes got soaked in the rain while I was running to my car. I’ve been meaning to buy the suede leather spray for all things suede but still couldn’t find one.

But anyway, I am now in my second week of attachment at HSAH. I’ll be posted there for 6 months under 2 oral surgeons and 1 oral pathologist. It’s really interesting and way different from the routine work I did in the main clinic. So as of today, I’ve been into 2 operations (4 patients) – 7 hours and 6 hours operation which left me with whole body ache. Actually I didn’t do much pun... mainly just retracting some structures, and also suctioning (blood and water). But the focus and concentration is always at the max. Try losing it for ½ a minute and you may block the surgeons view or get into the operation field. Or worse, accidentally suck a tiny RM60 titanium screw (like what I did on my second day).

Other than the operations, I’ve tended to 1 fresh case from the casualty, aspirated 10cc blood for pre-op screening, and done lots of this and that that adds up tremendously to my knowledge. And things are so organized because the hospital system is fully computerized. Loving it!

I can’t wait for this weekend. My parents and I will be spending our 4 days weekend at my sister’s. Then our activities will include going to Jalan TAR, visiting Habib, and a visit to a family friend’s house. Gotta start surveying for my wedding ring, that’s the main agenda. 4 months is not that long considering I’ve got a small engagement to be perfected.
