This is gonna be long

It's been a long time since I last blog. Some of the things that I'd like to share are

1. My semester I result (which is not that great)

2. How Love and I spent our anniversary

3. The things I'd like to buy when I start work

4. My faulty Dell laptop (well, not exactly faulty but I've send it for repair)

5. SPA(Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam) interview

6. Pecel lele

7. Chili cheese fries (at Carl's Jr.)

So, first thing's first. Food that we (Love and I) crave for these days are : Pecel lele and chili cheese fries. We know a place in Kg Baru which serves really hot and spicy pecel lele :- crispy deep-fried catfish (ikan keli) on a pool of fiery chile sauce (sambal) served with rice and raw vegetables. It's actually originated from Indonesia. The combination is so simple yet delicious so that's what makes it very nice. Sometimes I would think that we've had enough of pecel lele but we still eat it once or twice or thrice a week!

This is the picture of pecel lele I took from internet. I tried to search for the recipe and it turns out that there is some variant in the making of the sambal. So I saved the recipes which I think the representing picture is the closest to what I'm used to eat.

I got many datelines to meet in the near 1 or 2 weeks. My list of things to be done this weekend is:

1. Periodontic assignment 2. Still don't really have any idea on what the Dr wants. I'll just write the assignment topic here so as to encourage me to get it done faster.

'Gingivitis is a protective mechanism and periodontitis is a two edge sword. Discuss the statements in relation to pathogenesis of periodontal disease'. Date of submission: 27/02/09.

2. KAP learning portfolio. 8 essays to be written in total. Topics including reflection on the 5 years' learning experience, critical incident in clinic, community based experience that give the most impact, clinical competencies achieved, bla bla bla… Date of submission : 06/03/09

3. KAP case presentation. Date of presentation : 02/03/09

4. Be physically and mentally prepared to invest the complete denture for En. Abdullah. I am so very grateful that I got the expert help from Dr Louise. Here's the short story. While I was struggling with the teeth setup in the lab, an angel sent her down to the lab. I am not usually friendly but at that time, I greet her and asked what she thinks of my teeth setup. And, as it turns out, she spent the next 1 hour sitting beside me and explain, talk about her past experiences as well as correcting my teeth setup and we got to know a little about each other. So the next day while doing try-in in the clinic, she was there to check on me. The lower teeth setup need to be corrected as the jaw r/ship is not accurate. So the following day, she went to the clinic again, supervising me with the try-in. I won't drag my story or it will be very very long. But I was so relieved and grateful to her. So after this, got to process the denture right so there won't be any problem when I issue the denture!

5. Go to Nilai and collect my car road tax from Fida. Have to! Before : 26/02/09

6. Review Mr Kwan's case and read the folder thoroughly. This will be for my periodontal exit case. Due date : Don't know yet.

So that's about all. Now it's 4.09pm, Saturday. Work progress :

1. One essay outline completed.

2. Waiting for Love to give me the perio book he borrowed from library. He's taking a nap now. So that's why I'm having this extra time to blog (hehe).

After this, to read the thick books and hopefully will get some ideas (and materials) for the assignment. I searched for some journals but sadly they are in my Dell laptop, which now not working, and in Nilai. Oh btw, I'm using Fida's laptop. It's a HP Compaq nc6400. So I'm now too lazy to search for the journals. Guess I'll take a look at the books first.

I did mention about the chilli cheese fries at Carl's Jr just now rite. This is what it looks like. Very very nice. I think the fries is the best compared to the others (KFC, McD). It's crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. But it's quite pricey though. RM8.50 per serving.

Natural cut french fries in chili and shredded,
melted jack and cheddar cheeses

I've thought about the things I'd like to buy/own when I start work. 1 of them may be iPhone. Or maybe something similar to it. Or PDA. The early 2009 gadget review in the magazine claimed the iPhone to be it the top 5. However I can't remember right now the names of the 2 magazines I read at home last week.

iPhone

I thought of buying a new Sony digital camera because they look fancy and come in nice colors. When I told Abah about this he said that I should consult him first before buying any gadgets or electrical stuff. Because he knows a lot. Because he reads a lot. Yes, I agree. And he said that you don't simply buy a camera just because it is fancy to you. (Yes, I do know that…)

The camera I own. Kodak EasyShare M853. 8.2 megapixel

And another one I own. Sony Cybershot DSC-P8. 3.2 megapixel

The handycam I will own. Abah actually bought this for me as he already has a very nice HD Panasonic handycam. But he likes this one because it's so tiny but yet the picture quality is acceptable.

Incredibly and amazingly small

Features
Optical Zoom
: 10x
Digital Video Camera Type : SD-Card, SD-Card

What's Hot
Affordable price, super-small design, convenience of SD/SDHC format
Weighs less than 180g, dimension 41x59x102mm

What's Not
Not for serious users (movie making purposes)
Won't tolerate being buried in sand or dunked into the swimming pool
Occasional image issues (not HD)

The Final Word
Lightweight, highly user-friendly solid-state video camera that requires neither
expert knowledge nor a bagful of tapes or DVD discs.
With the cost of SDHC memory cards now reducing by the day, it's ideal.

This is the one Abah currently owns. I'm not sure of the exact model though. The Sony handycam which is also nice has been given to Alif Mustaqim (my nephew). And the one before that was given to Alya Umairah(niece). Yes, my Abah owns a range of cameras. Others include a Nikon DSLR (which I fight over with Adik just recently in case Abah wants to give it away), Panasonic Lumix 10 mp digital camera, and the 2 cameras I own were initially his. (yeah…of course I can't afford to buy them myself - yet!)

I tend to describe gadgets as 'nice' because I don't quite know the techno words to describe them. =& I'll take note to read the techno-gadget magazines more in the future…
